For the Japanese people who will come to Brasília for the Confederations Cup Opening

Konichiwa, people! As a Brazilian and Brasiliense, I would like to make some advices to you when you'll come to my hometown next year. Some tips you will not find in any tourist guide Here it comes:

1) The average Brazilian DOESN'T SPEAK ENGLISH. So, don't forget to memorize the basic phrases: "com licença ['lissenssa']" (excuse me), "por favor" (please), "desculpa" (sorry), "obrigado" (thank you), "onde é o banheiro?" (where is the bathroom?);

2) If you didn't exchange your money to Brazilian Reais, make only the necessary money exchange in Brasilia airport, because the exchange shop there ask for some "convenience tax" for no purpose. You can make a better exchange in any money exchange at almost all shopping centers here, which are more advantageous;

3) Still in the airport: AVOID TO TAKE A TAXI. For a simple reason: due to stupid politics here, ALL taxi drivers asks the extra fare to ALL races who involves the airport. Instead, take the gray bus with the specific place for the luggage which costs R$ 8 and leaves you at the hotel sector in South Center area.

4) DO NOT WALK INTO THE SOUTH COMMERCIAL SECTOR AT NIGHT. Not only because it is a prostitution zone where you can find some ugly women and beautiful she-males (all with STD), but mainly because it is the territory of CRACK USERS. I'm serious here: AVOID THIS AREA AT NIGHT. But don't worry during the daylight: althought they are still there (and it is a very ugly area of Brasília), it's a crowded place - so, no problem at the daylight;

5) There are some grocery stores who you, if lucky, can find a Japanese speaking dekasseguis and some Japanese groceries in case of homesickness: Mikami (414 Sul) and La Palma (413 Sul);

6) There are many sushi houses here, but the average Brazilian eats at "self-services" restaurants (far cheaper), where you pay for the food you eat. Try some.

Well, it's all by now. If you want, put some commentary in the blog, and maybe I can help you :)
